Rohan Protocol has published an official open-source implementation of the Model Context Protocol server. The code is located in the packages/mcp/ directory of the project's public repository.[^1]

First published as an open standard in 2024, the Model Context Protocol allows any AI model to connect to external data sources, in theory enabling persistent user memory outside individual chatbots.[^2] The protocol is now increasingly used by multi-agent AI frameworks to connect agents to external tools, but has no built-in authentication standard.[^3]

In the base specification, autonomous agents may call tools with arguments that execute in cleartext at the host boundary. This creates a documented risk of credential exfiltration.[^4]

The Rohan server registers standard Model Context Protocol tool endpoints over JSON-RPC. Included among these endpoints is a tool named rohan_zk_handshake.[^5]

Amazon Bedrock is specified as the LLM inference layer via the AWS Strands Agents SDK in the reference architecture for agent stacks using this protocol.[^6]
