OpenAI launched the ChatGPT Locked Chats feature on 2026-10-20 for every user plan offered on the service. The rollout covers Free, Go, Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise and Edu accounts.

OpenAI has stated that Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise and Education ChatGPT plans will remain completely free of advertising.
